With
the ongoing success of the school, an
on site electronics store, named Cité
Électronique opened in 1966 to
accommodate the students. Along with increasing
college enrolment came the realization
that selling and teaching under the same
roof was an untenable situation and the
store was relocated.
In
1971, a video division was created to
respond to the ever increasing demand
for the latest and most advanced technological
tools. Working towards the goal of a distinct
identity, Cité Électronique
Vidéo was officially established
as a subsidiary of Cité Électronique
in 1973. Realizing its potential, distinct
orientation, customer growth, and with
a staff of ten to its credit, Cité
Électronique Vidéo was incorporated
in 1974.
Since
1974, under the skillful management of
Jean Meunier, Jr., CEV
has evolved in step with technological
developments and today assumes a leading
role in what is now known as the multimedia
field. The company has grown to include
seventy employees, working from offices
in Montreal, Quebec City, Halifax, Ottawa,
and Moncton. From a company that solely
focused on video sales, rentals and servicing,
CEV
has expanded to now offer our numerous
clients a vast variety of products and
solutions in audio/video, non-linear editing,
multimedia, HD editing suites, streaming
and boardroom design, from many prestigious
suppliers.
