Pioneer and StorageQuest have partnered to provide a plug and play archival solution that now gives companies an easy and cost-effective way to include this most important segment of data storage in their network – Windows, UNIX, Linux, Mac/OS. StorageQuest’s NAS device (MSM-100) replaces library management software and the additional server that, until now have been required to manage Pioneer’s DVD-R libraries.

The New Solution

Archiving to DVD-R libraries has historically been complex – both installation and often for users as well. But now with the MSM appliance, installing and using Pioneer libraries have become as simple as plug-n-play.

MSM-100 Features and Benefiits

Network–attached

  • No server and software necessary – simply plugs into the network via Ethernet port
  • Device management via web interface or XML based API
  • Physical location of library no longer limited to length of SCSI cable
  • Performance cache ensures the integrity and security of read and write operations

Platform and OS Independent

  • Windows, UNIX, Linux, Mac/OS compatible
  • Universal Disk Format (UDF)

Industry Standards Approach

  • DVD-R media is a universal standard
  • All files written in standard UDF – each piece of media can stand alone and be read on any major platform
  • Supported network protocols: NFS, TCP/IP, Microsoft CIFS, HTTP, SNMP
