PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 22, 2004--Frost & Sullivan's recent study, World Video Encoding Markets, recognized Anystream, Inc.'s exceptional entrepreneurial ability in surviving the technology downturn of the software encoding market on the strength of its flagship product, Agility.

Anystream is not only one of the few survivors of the technology market downturn in the encoding market, but is, in fact, poised for growth as technology spending increases, especially in the digital media segment.

While many vendors are still debating the provision of broadcast quality solutions and incorporation of emerging formats, Anystream has already implemented these functions in its Agility(R) software. This product comes in two versions - Agility Workgroup(TM) and Agility Enterprise(TM).

"Based on client server architecture, Agility is capable of multi-format output encoding in 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 MPEG 2 outputs as well as in MPEG 4 and Windows Media, making it a very robust product," says Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Mukul Krishna.

For its sound marketing and technology innovation in the video encoding software market, Anystream is presented with the 2004 Market Leadership Award by Frost & Sullivan. This award is presented each year to the company that has substantially increased its market share by introducing robust products. The company has also identified market challenges, drivers, and restraints, and used this knowledge to establish itself as a market leader.

Agility products integrate seamlessly with some of the world's most complex production workflows. This enables media companies, broadcasters, and service providers to automate the media encoding and transcoding of streaming, broadcast, and production formats.

"Anystream's founding vision was to create software that simplifies the process of transforming media for use on the Internet," notes Krishna. "By sticking to this policy, Anystream has emerged as the largest software encoder in the market."
